QAPCO takes part in QP Environment Fair 2012

Qatar Petrochemical Co. (QAPCO) a leading Middle East petrochemical company is always keen to raise and promote environmental awareness within the community and to highlight the importance of preserving the environment.

QAPCO were pleased to take part in the annual environment fair, as a industrial key player they consider environment protection, a major concern.

“The health of any business is linked to the health of the community and the environment in which we operate. It is imperative that companies and the whole community consider their carbon footprint and take responsibility when it comes ecological issues and the decisions we make' said Dr Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla QAPCO Vice Chairman and CEO.

The objective of the fair was to bring together organizations from all over Qatar and engage them in dialogue in order to communicate the need for companies to think and act sustainably, and to showcase the environment-friendly measures and green practices that are already being adopted by QAPCO.

The stand was manned by QAPCO health and safety and Public relations employees who were there to answers the public’s queries about plastic and the environment in general.

The stand was truly eye catching, using plastic bottles and plastic cups, within a traditional bedouin tent, highlighting the application and significance of plastic in our daily life and encouraging the plastic recycle culture. Visitors learnt more about green issues by using our interactive touch screens, games and quizzes.

The highlight of the stand was the beautiful falcon which visitors could have their picture taken with and learn more about this beautiful bird and its significance in Qatari culture and heritage.
