QAPCO Celebrates Garangao

Qapco the Middle East’s largest petrochemical company joined in with last night’s Garangao festivities, by celebrating the evening with a gathering at their headquarters in Doha as well as the QAPCO club in Mesaieed.

In toe with Qatari tradition children adorned in traditional clothes could be seen going around their neighborhoods from door to door knocking for bags loaded with sweets and nuts while singing Garangao songs.
Qapco employees welcomed passers by handing out traditional Qatari sweets and gifts were given to children.
Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdullah Chief Commercial Marketing Officer commented “During the month of Ramadan all children in Qatar look forward to Garangao , today’s  gathering was an opportunity for QAPCO to show how much we appreciate our traditions and to engage all levels of the community during the Holy month of Ramadan.”
The celebrations began after Maghreb Prayer; the festivities were accompanied by traditional songs. The children sang songs, including the traditional one, “Give us what God gives you, have a house in Makkah for your generosity.” The local dancing was a highlight of the evening.
“We are delighted by this turnout, and the success of the event asserts people’s interest in learning about Qatari heritage and customs” Said Ahmad Yaseen Al Hamadi QAPCO PR Manager.
It is worth mentioning that the company representatives, along with the traffic police worked on ensuring the smooth flow of the event visitors and vehicles, along with the company medical crew who ensured the hygienic and crowd assistance when required.
